‘Safe and Sound’ – 60 Point Car Safety Inspection

The ‘Safe and Sound’ programme was designed to give you, the customer, complete confidence in making that important decision to buy a used car through the delivery of an exceptional seven element protection package.

Our research showed us that safety is of paramount importance to the vast majority of car buyers and so we have incorporated a thorough sixty-point safety inspection.

The safety inspection covers all of the items that are checked during an MOT. ‘Safe and Sound’ dealerships are authorised to carry out the inspection reports in their own workshop, but very importantly will be audited by AmTrust International Underwriters who will visit the dealer on a regular basis to check that the dealer complies with all the requirements of the ‘Safe and Sound’ scheme.

The check list covers for example:

Is there enough tread on the tyres?

Do the headlamps work?

Is there enough oil?

Do the seatbelts operate properly?

Is the windscreen cracked or damaged?
