Become a ‘Safe and Sound’ Dealership
Thank you for your interest in becoming a ‘Safe and Sound’ approved used car dealership.
The continued lack of consumer confidence has undoubtedly had a dramatic effect on sales in the used car business and with customer footfall down, car dealers need to look at alternative ways in which to entice buyers into their showrooms. It is vital to stand out from the crowd. In these toughest of trading conditions, successful used car dealerships need to present customers with something a little different…a package that separates them from the competition and enables them to offer their customers total peace of mind when buying a used car. The ‘Safe and Sound’ scheme ticks all of these boxes to help your dealership to attract new customers – and our dealerships will even testify to this.
“We recently had a customer who was looking to purchase a Porsche Boxster. He had thoroughly researched the market and viewed this model at several used car dealerships in the area. The customer bought the car from us in preference to a rival garage because he was so impressed with the ‘Safe and Sound’ warranty scheme, including the coverage of wear and tear items not normally covered by other warranties. The ‘Safe and Sound’ scheme has put our cars above the rest.”

Please note that your business must fulfil the following sign-up criteria to join the ‘Safe and Sound’ dealer network:
- Dealers must adhere to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
- Every vehicle offered for sale must comply with the seven elements of the ‘Safe and Sound’ scheme.
- A 6 month Car Warranty and Breakdown rescue and recovery policy must be included as mandatory.
- Marketing material must be displayed at the dealer’s premises.
- All marketing materials are given to the dealer to use whilst being a member of the ’Safe and Sound’ network and will be removed upon termination by either party.
- Dealers must allow the WMS Group to use their business name in marketing materials and on our website and allow us to take photographs of their site.
- The WMS Group will ask the Underwriters to audit the scheme to ensure that all elements are being adhered to and that the safety inspections are carried out on all vehicles.
